If your property is under contract, and you have agreed to our GFE, we will send the file to the closing attorney to begin title work. At this time, we will typically order an appraisal of the property. As a lender, we will require the attorney to provide lenders title insurance. It is common for borrowers to also want owners title insurance and there is some cost savings to purchasing it at this time. You will also need insurance coverage, appropriate to the type of deal, identifying us as the mortgagee.
